you can drive up and buy a day pass and hire clothing as well. i was up there between christmas and new year, very busy. there is a parador hotel but i would think that would be expensive. try a hotel search in google or similar quoting hotels in sierra nevada.

Taken from skiclub

Accommodation include Hotel Sol Melia Sol y Nieve, t +34 958 48 03 00 and the four-star Sol Melia Sierra Nevada, t +34 958 24 91 11, both of which are convenient and pleasant. Four-star Hotel Maribel, t +34 958 24 91 11 is highly rated.

We stayed in the Aparthotel Trevenique - short walk accross the square to the lifts and very big apartments with everything you could need. There is a small supermarket on site, plus lots of places to eat - so very handy! You can phone them direct - often better to do this. We arranged ski and book hire and lift pass when we got there.

Has anyone stayed at the "Vincci Hotel" up there?
I have never been but saw it in a catalogue so thought I might jump on this thread and ask .

Another option is to stay in Granada itself and commute the 30km or so every day. Not the best solution maybe, but it can avoid the high resort prices and give a varied nightlife

We've tried staying in places nearby. The last one at New Year was a 30 min drive that took 40 mins. ( I stressed on booking that it was important to us not to be more than 30 mins away)I would love to be able to find something closer that can accommodate a family of five. Hotels become very expensive when three rooms are needed.

Marina your best bet would be to rent a flat www.apartamentosierranevada.com
