travel between Albufeira, Portugal and Benalmadena-Costa, Sp
We understand there is a frequent bus shuttle service between Albufeira and Benalmadena-Costa (or Malaga) however, we have been unable to obtain additional information. An alternative is to drive a rental car between the 2 countries, however, not all auto-rentals allow this, or if they do, the drop-off fee is very high. Train or air travel would take too long. Any help would be appreciated.

You can certainly get a bus from Albufeira to Seville. Look at www.eva-bus.net (Portugal-Algarve operator) or the Spanish bus operator in Huelva province (west Seville) www.damas-sa.es
The bus arrives into Plaza de Armas terminal in Seville. This is near the river and about 20 minutes walk to Cathedral area. Buses for Malaga run from the 'other' bus terminal in Seville called Prado de San Sebastian which is not far from the rear of the Alcazar gardens and again about 20 minutes walk from cathedral. There are regular buses between Seville and Malaga.
I believe that there is a bus service from Faro to the Costa del Sol. Look at www.alsa.es
