Visiting Granada

Postby gus » Wed Mar 29, 2006 8:32 pm

I know...it's all been done before but........
I have a couple of friends going on a walking holiday in Alpujarras in early June who want to add on a couple of days to visit Granada/Alhambra.

They will be dropped off in Malaga at the end of their trip and have asked me for advice on travelling to Granada and whether to stay in Granada or Malaga.

I know there is no direct train service from Malaga but is it worth considering a connecting train? (Bobadilla?)
Is there a bus service to Granada? How much and how long does it take?
Any guidance on hotels in Granada?

Any and all advice greatly welcomed :-)

Gus

theres a bus from Malaga bus station takes about 1/30 hours. Costs about 15E.

For guidance on hotels you would probably need to give a little more info.

As I recall (from twenty odd years ago) the train journey from Granada is via Bobadilla where we spent quite a long time waiting for a connection, but it was worth it as the stretch to Malaga goes next to the spectacular Chorro gorge.
