Travel by train

I know that you can put your car on the train in Paris and pick it up in Madrid, does anyone know if it's possible to put it on a train from Madrid to Malaga.
My wife is now terrified of air travel and refuses to board a plane, she also suffers from car sickness, I made an attempt at a conversation with Renfe this morning but as my level of Spanish is feeble to nonexistent i'm afraid I'm no nearer a conclusion, anyone know or can point me in the right direction?
