Sorry I couldn't reply sooner. a logging contractor brought down overhead cables and our electricity was from 4.30 until 11pm last night, it came back on and I was replying when it when back off again until 2a.m.!

Anyway, Firefox would only show the last part of the form where you had to click to validate and generate the pdf

I printed off 2 forms from IE and Chrome to see the difference .
The cent box had migrated to under the taxable base title and also House no. and Qual. no. boxes had vanished from the IE form.

Tried several times with Chrome but still got the errors about 21-31 boxes being incorrect.
I'd left this form as there seemed to be quite a few problems since January and I hoped they would have been resolved.

I will try again with Firefox but not just yet, I neeed some time to recover from yesterday's traumas!

I have been monotoring this board for some time and it has been of great assistance to me.
I have a few questions that users here may be able to asist with.

Having owned an apartment for a few years that I used for myself I have took the step of occasionally renting it out for a week or two at a time.I have always paid the imputed tax and in fact I do it successfully online.
I am reasonably conversant with the Spanish tax system, I know what I should be paying and what deductions I can make as an EU resident, some issues are sligtly puzzling.
On the tax agencies website it states that when submitting the tax return if deductions are claimed
then a certificate of fiscal residence and documents showing proof of expenes must be submitted.
How do I do that as I am in the UK and do the returns online.
Do I need to scan the documents and send them to an address, if so where?
Or,as it is self assessment would they accept my submission without any supporting documents?
Thanks

Fed-up old me again

Went on Firefox, followed instructions faithfully and was able to open the form.
Filled it in and once again the same list of errors box 21-31

Tried again and deliberately missed out a couple of other questions, but left the original boxes 21-31 intact.
Got the error this time only about the deliberate omissions, nothing about 21-31 boxes being incorrect.

Added the omissions, tried again , this time only 21-31 box errors came up.

I've read the 6 pages of info on here time and time again.

I've done both mine and my O.H. self-assessment tax forms on-line for the past 5 years, that's a complete doddle, why is this so frustrating!

Went out of the form completely and started from scratch, still errors.

Where to go now?????

At a complete and utter loss and getting slightly paranoid. :(

Concorde, can you take a screenshot of the part of the form that shows these boxes when they are filled in? Are you using Windows 7 or XP?

Beachcomber, never done a screenshot before but I can follow the instructions and try and do it.
I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium, I have a Netbook with Windows 7 basic and could perhaps try that to see if there are the same problems.

The block of boxes from 21-31 look the exact same on all 3 browsers .
I've tried leaving the suggested boxes blank and also adding 0 where appropriate, but that doesn't make any difference.
Don't know if I'll get time to do this this weekend as we are away.

Is there an completed example I can see of that block of boxes anywhere, just to see if there is something wrong with my format?

Compare your entries to this:

Example 210 formula

Do you have access to a computer running XP?

Beachcomber, that is exactly what I have on my form, the only difference is I'm completing the English version.

As I'm away at my daughters this weekend I'll ask if she has XP on hers.
I used to have XP and wish I'd stuck with it!

I need to have this sussed for when I go over in late September.

I seem to have given everyone a headache with this problem but no-one else seems to have it!

I know it shouldn't make a difference but could you try it with the Spanish version of the form. You don't need to fill it in again, Just open the Spanish version and import the file.

Tried the Spanish version, interestingly enough there was one less error,
instead of boxes 21-31 being incorrect it has now missed off 21, so only 22-31 wrong.

weirder and weirder

That's it for now, I'll give everyone a break and try again after this weekend.

Hi Beachcomber

Thought i would give my form another shot ! Tried inputting the NIE slightly differently without a space and adding the "A" at the end and when I tried to generate the form I got this message :

Errors found:
Page 01: Error on Sale. Fee includes [22] -. Incorrect field.

Page 01: Error on Sale. Fee Act IRNR (22) - (23) [24] -. Incorrect field.

Page 01: Error on Sale. Fee includes reduced (24) - (27) [28] -. Incorrect field.

Page 01: Error on Sale. Results of the reverse (28) - (29) more - (30) [31] -. Incorrect field.

Can anyone tell me how these can be wrong, bearing in mind my previous post with my entries ? I have been using the English version of the form but the error message came up in Spanish so I translated it using Google.

Am i entering the wrong figures i.e. splitting the tax payable between 2 of us as we are joint owners. Can't think of anything else that can be wrong :problem:

Can you give the error messages in their original Spanish form and can you check that your entries follow this example:

Hi Beachcomber

This is the message in Spanish :

Errores detectados:
Pagina 01: Error en Liquidacion. Cuota integra [22]-. Campo incorrecto.

Pagina 01: Error en Liquidacion. Cuota Ley IRNR (22) - (23) [24]-. Campo incorrecto.

Pagina 01: Error en Liquidacion. Cuota integra reducida (24) - (27) [28]-. Campo incorrecto.

Pagina 01: Error en Liquidacion. Resultado de la autoliquidacion (28) - (29) mas - (30) [31]-. Campo incorrecto.

Also your example does match my entries apart from the fact that the 24% in box 21, for Box 22 I have divided the 24% resulting figure by 2 because me and hubby are joint owners, your example is just a straight 24% of the Box 4 (Taxable Income) I think ?

Hi Beachcomber

These are my answers based on an Income Taxable Base of 146.10 (24% of valor catastral):

21 - 24.00 (percentage of valor catastral)
22 - 17.53 (which is the 1.1% of 24% of the valor catastral) divided by 2 (as joint owners with hubby).
23 - 0
24 - 17.53
25 - 0
26 - 0
27 - 0
28 - 17.53
29 - 0
30 - 0
31 - 17.53

I hope this clarifies the equations I used.

I think your calculations are a little amiss.

To obtain the taxable base you take 1,1% of the valor catastral and then 24% 0f that figure as your quota payable (divided by two in your case) So, if 24% of your valor catastral is 146,10 that makes your valor catastral only 608,75. Is that correct? I think, probably not.

I think your valor catastral is probably 13.281,82

So Box 4 should show the figure 73,05 (13.281,82 times 1,1% divided by 2).

This makes your figure of 17,53 in boxes 22, 24, 28 and 31 correct.

The figure that is causing the error message is that of 146,10 in box 4 instead of 73,05 as you should halve it at that point not afterwards which you appear to have done.

See this note in the FAQ:

Please remember that you must submit a tax return in respect of each person named in the escritura as the owner, ie Two owners = two tax returns with the base imponible Box [04] (taxable base) halved.

Hi Beachcomber

Thanks for coming back to me.

My valor catastral/Base Imponible is 13282.43.

Seems like I might have got my calculations in reverse so wront sums in the wrong boxes !

I've just tried the form on Windows XP Professional.
The form is now missing the section with box 4 in it
Determination of the taxable amount is typed there
Then nothing
Straight on to Settlement.

Also which I thought was strange, when I downloaded the form from the link on the forum it was always in Spanish, unless I requested English version by changing the s to n on the url.
This time the form came in with the Spanish title but was in English.
Even google said this form is in Spanish do you want to translate!
when I clicked yes, to see what would happen, only the heading changed to English, the form remained in English.

I think I am in The Twighlight Zone.
Will have use of the same computer tomorrow morning, not trying anything else tonight.

Concorde, I think you have probably forgotten to select option 2 in the drop down box (02) under 'Renta Obtenida -Tipo Renta (Income Obtained - Income Type) On the English form this states 'Income from urban property'. They have omitted the word 'Imputed' in the translation.

JWhite, I was only working on two decimal places which accounts for the slight discrepancy in my calculation of your valor catastral. However, the result should be the same. I would be interested to know how you get on now!
