There are lots of things that have happened to other people that haven't happened to me, but I don't diss what they say as being rubbish. That bubble you live in may pop one day.

but do you know that they are telling you the complete truth when they tell you stories like "the guardia stopped us and deliberatly broke our lights to fine us" ?

in the same way as you are entitled to believe things you were not a witness to, I think it would be fair for me to also be entitled to my opinion, i.e. not to believe everything I hear about about someone´s mate having their lights broken and battery disconnected by the cops !!

I think there lies the problem. Your posts on the subject are based purely on your opinion, other peoples posts are based on knowledge derived from facts.

they are based on what their friends and mates have told them...is there anyone on here who PERSONALLY has had their lights broken by the cops?

Why would that change your mind? "Everbody is anonymous, hiding behind a nick."

Julian

So what you're saying is that if you ever post anything that happened to a friend or a neighbour of yours, we should simply assume it's a pack of lies?

you´re welcome to think that Mowser, you are perfectly entitled to have your own opinion about that and anything else anyone posts here.

Highly unlikely that Mowser would automatically have that opinion though.

at least we agree on something !! just as I wouldn´t automatically assume that everything everyone posts that happens to their friends is a pack of lies.

Now now Julian! I'm now not too sure what to make of some of your previous posts ...
my neighbour in monda saw a snake in his garage a couple of weeks ago
my norwegian neighbour in monda( both our houses suffer from this low, fluctuating voltage problem) once showed me a catalogue from norway
About a month ago the neighbour at my house in the countryside in monda told me he was about to start building a house on his plot

Gosh, you're a trusting soul, Julian!! :wtf:
Just to say really tho that the P Local were 'at it' in AEG the other day on the bottom bypass...first time I've seen THEM doing 'roundabout duty'.....must be short of money as someone has already said. It was a full document/driving licence check.......

Julian, who is your local village Saint in Spain? I think I will sign up to her protection..................to be surrounded and protected by golden rays of light colouring the world a loving colour so much so that even the police see me as angelic, that would be heaven.......

I have been stopped twice by the Guardia in 10 years, both times they were polite, respectful etc...and no problem although the second most recent time they were clearly looking and hoping for an infraction......... however I do have a friend who was stopped and they definitely hunted for something to fine him with but it was a UK registered vehicle and I do think they are sorely tempted to see those as as an easy target (he is only here part time and drives over from the UK each time to vehicle is totally legitimate here)

Like all police forces the officers within them do tend to shy away from certain types of offences. When I was a uniformed bobby I would steer away from dealing with HGV's [big lorries etc] if I could because the law in respect f these I found to be very complex and should only be dealt with by a specialist traffic officers ifr ne was available. The Guardia Civil are quite well versed in all matters and have a traffico dept. The local officers are really glorified traffic wardens and have very limited powers and cannot deal with certain cenarios. I once gave a lecture on the workings of the normal british policeman and they were amazed at the powers bestowed to us and the fact that we dealt with everything that we were sent to or came across. In Alhaurin el Grande we have two traffic wardens full time covering the parking meters so progress is being made. Having deliberate damage carried out to car lights etc, is a bit far fetched but not out of the realm of possabilities but mainly confined to TV and movies.

sounds like you don´t need the help of local saint as everytime you have been stopped you also have had no problem, they didn´t break you lights, the didn´t fine you for something you hadn´t done, you have the same experience of the guardia as I do then.
being polite and having the paperwork in order, the car insured, ITV passed works wonders!! :)
