Postby sungoddess » Mon Aug 25, 2014 6:53 pm

I've just seen something that suggests there is a card available that gives the 65's and over discounted travel and discounts on other things as well. The card was called "the Andalucian 65".Anyone know if this is actually correct?Anyone out there have one?

Gerry,
I have a few miles to go before i qualify but assuming i get there.
Do you have a permanent resident and what documents are necessary to get same?
I do think that that the rail card for the over 60 is available to everyone and you may also be able to confirm this, unfortunately i have the miles for this.

Many thanks me.

Have a look at the link I gave. All the requirements are listed there.
OK, I admit, I'm too lazy to type them out.
Besides Eastenders has just started.

Carrowcrin, the railcard you refer to is called a "tarjeta dorada" and is available to anyone aged 60 or over. You just need id when you first purchase it to prove age. It costs €6 and is valid for a year. It offers varying discounts depending on what day of the week you travel. In the case of the Cercanias, it's 40% at all times.

My wife and I both have the card 65 we get half price travel on buses, discounts from some opticians. All you need is the form and a photo, and proof of age. Well worth it just for the buses.

Just use the link Gerry gave you. You can apply online and upload a photo. No need for a form.

Is this for residents only or are property owners able to get the card.

I wouldn't get too excited about it unless you use public transport a lot. Most of the discounts are the sort you can get anywhere.

The only things, besides your name and address, that are asked for are a photocopy of your DNI or other identification document i.e. passport in the case of us expats and a photograph of yourself.
This is for the normal card, you can get a gold card if your income is sufficiently low.

It is even easier with a digital certificate. You just need to supply your address, date of birth and telephone number. The only other requirement is a photograph in .jpg format which is less than 32 Kb.
Let's go Brandon!

We would want it mainly for the buses. We don't drive so use buses a lot.We were hoping to get to Granada and Seville this way,so reduced prices would be great.
