Ecoparcel

Postby gerryh » Sat Nov 29, 2014 1:58 pm

I need to send a parcel from here to Germany.
50+ Euro via Correos.
Ecoparcel is quoting 24 Euro. Any body used them?
Which carriers do they use from Spain?
Cheers

I have used them UK - Spain, worked perfectly. If you look at their reviews you will usually see some familiar names.
They use normal couriers, my stuff (5 electric radiators) came TNT. They get the rates by using unsold space on any carrier but it does seem to work.

Is it ecoparcel.eu ? I've just tried to look at their site, but I'm getting "Access forbidden on this server" !

Any recommendations for other couriers from Spain to UK ? I've tried Parcel2go, but apparently 11 kg is too heavy

Hi chrissiehope,

https://www.ecoparcel.eu/?Pages.Home

Site comes up ok.

Mixed reviews by members in the past on A.com........... ....

Use A.com.... Search.... ecoparcel

Mixed reviews on other sites.

Sounds like it(the service) depends on the couriers that operate in your area.

Had a package (5ltr gearbox oil) delivered from Wales to Spain for £14, the company used Yodel for UK end and ASM in Spain and it arrived at my door...........

Would be worth getting a quote from them.......

Hi Enrique

The link still doesn't work in IE, but OK on Firefox !

I've looked at the other site, but it doesn't seem to recognise a UK postcode.... ? Also. I've no idea what 'Bulk' is. so I put 'carton' - would that be right (assuming I can get it to accept a UK destination !) ?

I've just booked a shipment from here to Germany.
Should be collected tomorrow.
You enter a number in the Bulk field.
1 for a single parcel, it should have given you a drop down menu with numbers of parcel to select.
Cheers

If pricing, best not to do what a local artist did: used a website to price up sending a painting to client in Luxembourg, and agrees costs with client. When the painting was done and she entered all the details, not just the weight, the price went up by a large multiple as soon as the dimensions were entered! Luckily, with the painting (a commissioned work) already in the many hundreds of Euro, the client agreed to pay the vastly increased costs.

Thanks Gerry - it is still asking for a valid postcode of origin, but I selected the correct one from their drop down list.... :?

Yesterday i sent a parcel from Calahonda (Marbella) to Florence, IT thru Royal Mail (via one of the collection points of offexspain.com). Paid €22. Just did a check on the price if sent with ecoparcel: €21:45. Not much difference except that I had to physically take the parcel to Party Party in Calahonda to have it sent - they do not have any pick-up service - whereas ecoparcel seems to pick up from your home. More convenient.

Thanks for the input Icaru - as I am now in UK and the cartons are in a village shop in Spain, it's a bit too late for me, but I'm sure will be useful to others :D

My problem now (well, 2 actually) is that there is no facility for the shop to print labels (I have written the address on each item), and that ecoparcel say you can't specify a time, but the shop closes at 2 pm every day, and doesn't re-open til 5 or 6 (& not at all on Wednesdays). I have filled in the contact form on the site asking about these problems, but so far have not heard back.... I'm a bit concerned about the time that is passing, as I'm sure the shop owner won't want these things hanging around indefinitely :problem:
