Paying for house purchase in the uk

Does anyone know if it is possible for seller and buyer to exchange funds in the UK when the sale is being conducted at the Notary in Spain where both have given POA's ?

Neither seller nor buyer are able to be in Spain for this but coincidently both will be in the same town in the UK.

Any help/advice greatly received.

When I bought my house here both parties went from the Notary to the bank and we paid the sellers directly so as long as the money is paid, it shouldn't be a problem.

We bought one in sterling but some of the money has to be in euros, taxes, plus valia, notary fees etc.
