Lift required from UK to Andalucia

Postby Martin Page » Wed Dec 02, 2015 5:08 am

I know this is a big Ask ... but is anyone coming over to anywhere in Andalucía in the very near future that would have space for an additional passenger and two small 'carry on' bags.

My wife has been stranded in the UK Heathrow area after suffering a pulmonary embolism to both lungs after a long haul flight from Singapore. She is unable to complete the connection flight back to Spain as a "NO FLY" ban has been issued by the doctors. She is due to leave hospital shortly and overland is now the only option .

Please help if you can

I will collect her from any destination. Just get here down here

Sorry to hear of your wife's plight but I don't understand the logic of your post, if she's stranded at Heathrow it must be expensive and very inconvenient but to expect someone to detour there will be also inconvenient for anyone who undertakes this favour !
Wouldn't it be more logical for her to travel by bus or train to one of the ferry ports (Plymouth for example and take the ferry to Spain then train to Madrid from there you could take over ?

Yes .. your right, by stranded I meant - in Hospital -
As soon as she is discharged she will stay with family, until arrangement's can be made to get her overland to Spain

As an alternative to the ferry why not take the train - Eurostar to Paris and TGV Paris to Barcelona. Overnight there then AVE to Malaga. A pleasant journey and far less hassle than travelling by car ( or air for that matter).

Thanks everybody. She's home now. In the end the train saved the day . Two days for euro star to Paris. Paris to Barcelona, over night in Barcelona. Then to Seville and eventually to Cadiz. Total cost of over £300. That's a bit different to £20 and 3 hours from Stanstead. Oleary has some plusses after all eh ?
