Fishing....

Postby Bigaitchc » Wed Apr 26, 2017 5:22 pm

I have a friend who owns a house in Sotogrande, he loves to sea fish (from land / pier not on a boat).
He cannot find out how to get the correct licence/ permission, can anyone advise me how he can fish legally?
Thank you

Wow, thank you.
So is it as simple as purchasing the licence from this website?
And it's for English folks too?
Thank you

Some other posters may have more knowledge of this, but I'm not sure it's that simple, I believe there may be a quite stringent test!

Hi,

I recently tried telelicencia and struggled to get past a 'security' screen. How did you get past this point on the application, I believe it wanted a phone number. Not having a Spanish number I assume that is why my application failed?? Have mailed telelicencia … and as per other posters got no response.

I have a place in Albunol on the coast. Thks ,,,

Telelicencia isn't an official site though. Does it charge extra? Seems to mention insurance too. OH just got his at the bank. I also thought they were free if over 65?

You are correct Katy, if you are over 65 the license is free. You need to go to your Oficina Agraria to get one. Here in Caleta we use the Oficina Comarcal Agrari de Velez-malaga. They also issue cheaper licenses than Telelicencia, but buying it online is much simpler. You do not need to pass any exams for a beach or boat licence.

Looking at that on line site it would seem they want €46 for a beach licence? If you go to the local licensing office it will cost you around €3 for the same licence. I did just that a couple of years ago guy helped with the form gave me receipt that I paid at nearest bank went back with proof of payment and he had the licence ready. It really was that simple. I wasn't aware it was free over 65 so as I now am that's good news.

No need to do that just go with your documents to one of the banks listed here on the official Junta de Andalucia page.

Cajamar

Thanks for all the responses to my query. Contacted my local Agraria which is at Motril. 30 min drive. Dropped in last week. Office very easy to find. Presented my docs, paid 6E by card and got 3yr licence there and then. Simples......only took a few years of head scratching and cursing.

Anyway, fished off Adra harbour wall....blanked...but spent couple of hours relaxing and stopping up tan.

Argh now you never asked about actually catching fish lol I'm afraid I came to conclusion the med is empty of fish but there are worse ways to spend a few hours

Your probably right when you see the size of fish being kept by the locals on the wall. Different tactics next time. I intend to catch and release that is if I actually catch something!
