Hi all,
I am sure someone here will be able to help with this....
We have just increased our electricity from 4.4 kw to 5.5or5.75kw and our existing ICP is 20amps am I right in thinking that they should have altered ICP to adjust our usage . I would of thought it should be 25amp now ....?
Many thanks

Yes, the rating on the ICP should have been increased to 25A.

Hi Rummii,
ICP should have been upgraded to 25 Amp
Currently you will trip on 4.6kw.......depending on the Voltage supplied on the day...........

Re: Advice on electricity
Are you referring to an ICP in your fuse box?
Do you have a smart meter?
If you have a Smart meter then it has an inbuilt ICP which should have been uprated via a software update when you changed contracts. This also means that the ICP in your fuse box is redundant and can be removed.

Gerry is correct on this. Smart meters have a programmable "max contracted power" function built in, so your existing ICP becomes redundant.

If the ICP trips on a Smart meter, how do you reset it?

Hi,
Have a look at olive's post on this thread.................will depend on type of meter fitted.................
http://andalucia.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... ip#p363560
Probably a better way is listed in this link..............
http://www.sparksinspain.es/2015/02/04/ ... art-meter/
If the OP still has the ICP in circuit he will need to remove this......maybe the Engineer did when fitting Smart meter.....
One way to check OP is getting the correct Kw is to load up the circuits until it trips, most items have the power ratings on the label .....

Re: Advice on electricity
That sounds simple enough!
I will resist all attempts for them to install a new meter! It gets very complicated if you have a three phase supply.
