I reckon that a new licence to run a pharmacy is like a licence to be a taxi driver - a built-in income for the family, and as rare as hen’s teeth.

The government only release so many licenses a year and they are all privately owned. Very difficult to get but a good earner if you manage to obtain one.

There are other areas where they can work as well such as for pharmaceutic producing companies or as sales people selling their products to hospitals or local health authorities but competition is fierce and too many do the degree with not enough jobs to go round.
