Yes, I have tried Overseas Supermarket in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro and they do not stock it. Maybe Iceland in Nuevo Andalucia is different. i hope someone can advise me differently.

Iceland in Fuengirola stock everything. I haven’t actually seen your item in there but amazed at the amount they do have.

Does Iceland Spain still stock Waitrose products? A good jam is Wilkins stocked by Waitrose and they are very good. Still a private family Co. My neighbour is a family member and she told me they sell all over the world. Bonne Maman is ok too and available in most Spanish supermarkets.
Re: Chivers Blackcurrant Jam 400gm
I thought Iceland was a part of Waitrose. They certainly stock nearly all their products.

Supersol in Arroyo sells assorted Chivers marmalades and Chivers lemon curd - maybe other branches do jam.

Absolutely untrue. They are a totally seperate company who happen to stock a very limited range of Waitrose products amongst others.patricia wrote:I thought Iceland was a part of Waitrose. They certainly stock nearly all their products.

Reminds me of the Brit misinformation that insisted Dunnes Stores were an Irish branch of M&S....

Not to mention the story that Lidl and Aldi were run by two brothers!

To be honest with you. I could not care less one way or the other whether they are or are not. I have only noticed when I have shopped at Iceland that a lot of their products were from Waitrows so I just presumed they were part of the same company, notice that I said I thought not that I know, however as I have said I care not one jot whether they are or are not.

Aldi is run by two brothers, their mother started the company over a 100 years ago. Lidl is a direct competitor. I think Addidas and Puma are brothers that set up rival brands but that may also be a myth.El Cid wrote:Not to mention the story that Lidl and Aldi were run by two brothers!

Correct. Aldi is owned by two brothers. But they fell out some time ago and went their separate ways by setting up two separate companies. Aldi Sud and Aldi Nord. They still share some supplier contracts but the two companies are different. Aldi in the UK are not the same as Aldi in Spain. Aldi UK have a far better reputation than Aldi in Spain.

I think the same can be said of Iceland. These stores are owned and operated by Overseas Supermarkets and the Iceland name is used under franchise.
That is not to say that Iceland /Overseas is inferior in any way to Iceland in the UK. In fact, a friend who works in Iceland in Dorchester says that Overseas in Mijas is far superior to any UK Iceland.
I am sure they sell Chivers jam. I will have a look the next time I go there.

They have a list of products on their website. Tiptree is not on there, but Hartleys Blackcurrant jam is there.

Hartleys Blackcurrent is a good one, we've bought that when in the Uk and were impressed by the quality of it.
