We have got some old but serviceable doors and the like that have years of paint on them or varnish. Does anyone know of a dip and strip place?

Most dip and strip ..are restorers who only work for themselves... there are plenty of baths to be found on rubbish tips and sosa cautica in the drugerias..but baths here are not very long..and to make up one just for a couple of doors is expensive....DIY alternative messy and time consuming style mix up sosa cautica with water..put door on floor outside on top of plastic sheeting..dip old broom in mixture and rub..rub.. rub..leave ..rub..rince.. or use a hot paint stri pers.. then glass to scrape of last bits off...its really a long hard job..worth it if the door is good...

Are the doors really good quality? Some of the older and less well made doors look good but are held together witha poor glue which will be dissolved if you dip-n-strip them. use Nitromors if you are doing it yourself. Much easier to control how much goes on and where. :)
