Can anyone tell me whether British children living in Spain are entitled to NHS dental treatment back in the UK? We were told by a UK dentist that our 13-year-old son urgently needs a brace on his teeth. If we have it done here it will cost 550 euros to fit plus 90 euros per month ever after to have it tightened. As it's not a cosmetic thing, his treatment in the UK would be completely free so it would obviuously be worth taking him back, even just to get it fitted.
Also, on an related matter, does anyone know whether we're entitled to UK family tax credits if we live in Spain? I work on a freelance basis for UK companies in the UK and pay tax and NI in the UK. Surely that should entitle my kids to NHS treatment in the UK and continuing tax credits (they stopped our child benefit as soon as we moved out here)?
Anyone able to shed any light?
