IBI AGAIN

I have been to the local Ayuntamiento for my IBI they don't have it, so I went to the bank and the previous owner is still paying the IBI, so the man at the bank said after checking her direct debits.

He changed the dd from her account to mine, and said they would take the money out end of next month.

How did he know it was for my house? Is the ref on the statement? I had her last copy of IBI with me so it had all the ref on it.

Another problem is I have sold this house my solicitor said this whole IBI thing is not a problem and 'go back next year' exact words!

Should I get something from the back to say I will be paying by dd?

I am confused!!!
