When do clocks change to winter time?

Postby Jane » Fri Oct 28, 2005 5:50 pm

We are going to Spain on Monday 31st Oct. Can someone tell me when the clocks change in Spain (it's this weekend in England), so that we don't get caught out?
Thanks

Remember they go back an hour, so you get an extra hour in bed!! :D

Spain is always one hour ahead of the UK, so the change takes place at the same time. At 3AM Sunday morning in Spain (2AM in the UK) the clocks go back one hour.

Enjoy the extra hour in bed

Up until a few years ago Spain changed the hour at the beginning of October and UK at the end so for three or four weeks every year we were on the same time. It was all very confusing. :?

The first time I came out to Spain with hubby it was April and the clocks went forward in England the first weekend we were there. All week we wondered why everything was shut when we went out at what we thought was 1pm ish. It wasn't until Thursday that we spotted a clock in a bar and realized we had been an hour behind everyone else all week. Good job we found out or we would have missed our flights home.

Same applied to France too Beach. One of the few EU directives that I agreed with but it took years of wrangling for it to happen.

I too remember the days when Spain changed it's clocks before the UK, and as we were usually on holiday here at that time it meant I got the extra hour in bed twice!!!!
