Chris (driving over lemons book) was a guest on Spanish TVchat show yesterday. He is reasonably fluent and was on for about 15 mins. The host asked him why the Brits want to move to such isolated areas, buy ruins without electricity etc when most spanish want to move towards urban areas. He also asked Chris why the Brits refer to andalucia as the "real Spain" as he thought this was strange.

Which show?

Which show was it on? Might be able to get a transcript or see it again on line, depending on which channel it was on.

He spoke about the British always were seeking out warmer climates even in the 18/19Century, ie. N. France then S France etc. He also said that even in the UK there is trend for people to move away from urban areas as opposed to the Spanish way of leaving the campo. He thought that the heat and the dust, lack of water becomes a way of life. I just wished I had seen it from the beginning (and that I was a better reporter!)

I have searched high and low on the Internet, but could not find anything anywhere for the programme you mentioned. If anyone comes across the programme and links to it on the net please post.
Thanks
