Alcohol free wine
Alcohol free wine
Anybody found an alcohol free wine that tastes like wine and doesn't just taste of sweet grape juice?
Cheers

Re: Alcohol free wine
Sorry Gerry, no offence to you personally, but really, what's the point ?
Re: Alcohol free wine
I've been told to cut down on my alcohol consumption and because of a current stomach problem I've been told to cut out alcohol and many other drinks/ foods completely.
Just water and boiled rice is boring.

My neighbour who is teetotal recommends a Chardonnay style white wine called "Ariel Blanc" he reckons it's as close as you can get to the real thing.
Re: Alcohol free wine
Where does he buy it here in Spain?
Sounds worth trying.
Thanks for the info.

It's Alderley Edge (no 'N' ) - Alderney (with an 'N') is in the Channel Islands
Actually, a lot of the footballers have moved to Prestbury these days

I know, my iPad seems to change words, has a mind of it's own
I was going to do dry January and looked at this
http://www.alcoholfree.co.uk
I made some lovely lime and lemon juice but a few days later decided that it would be better with a shot of Absolut vodka
What about making some mulled wine? Alcohol content would be minimal. Had some mulled cider recently and it was good.

Re: Alcohol free wine
You have more choice drink alcohol free beer than wine I think. Not sure you can get those beers mentioned below:

Castillo de Salobreno from Mercadona adding a fizzy water or tonic water. It is available in Red or White. I don't drink alchohol and I drink this or Mercadona also do alchohol free cider or Tinto de Verano, sin alcohol. All are very pleasant and certainly not as crap as alchohol free beer.

Try the red chilled with lots of ice, very refreshing.
Re: Alcohol free wine
Beer (almost) without alcohol is much improved these days. We regularly drink Lidl's Finkbrau and having tried most brands, like this one the best.
Re: Alcohol free wine
Another recommendation for Castillo de Salobreña, this is the one some restaurants keep. The Spanish, here in Andalucia, often refer to it as "mosto", the same name given to grape juice.
I sometimes drink it as I'm always the driver!
