Cooked or not?

Postby peteroldracer » Sat Aug 20, 2016 8:55 pm

We have today bought some chicken from Carrefour labelled as "Pollo Kebab". It looks delicious but there are no instructions on the label, just what looks like a standard 'make sure it is fully cooked before eating'.
What do you reckon, is it safe to stick in a sandwich as it is, or should we cook it somehow and for how long?
Tests with our cat seem to suggest it is ready to go, but.....

If the cat sh*ts over a 5 bar gate tomorrow then I'd be microwaving it on 750w for 55 seconds before I touched it. :P

Why not cut a piece in half and see if its cooked in the middle. Surely not rocket science

The trouble is that although it looks cooked, there is this warning to make sure it is cooked thoroughly....we had some last night and so far so good!

We have had that but always for the BBQ. I suspect you're raw chicken. Not a good idea!

Take a fork and drag it through the chicken. If it shreds it is cooked. If it is in any way jelly like it is raw.

But to be honest if you cannot tell then don't eat it.

We ended up giving it a good minute on full power in the 'ting' cooker without ending up with the Bombay two-step, but will be taking it up with them next big shop!
