Took out this month a kilo of "bacon" from Lidl which cost all of £3.39.

We invited some friends in for dinner one night when we cooked the bacon. They are long term residents and said they are unable to buy anything of that quality at any price !

We love Lidl and Aldi ( apparently run by two brothers who fell out)

Aldi do packs of ham off cuts which are great.

Aldi has no connection with Lidl in any way.

Aldi is the company which was run by two brothers who fell out. They split Aldi into two companies, Aldi Nord and Aldi Sud, who operate separately in Germany. The Aldi stores outside Germany are either Aldi Nord or Aldi Sud. The UK Aldi's are Aldi Sud and in Spain it is Aldi Sud. The logos of the companies are different. It also explains why, in some people's opinions, Aldi UK is superior to Aldi Spain.

I was in Aldi once when a lady sent her partner to get a dozen eggs. He came back with a box of six. She said "I told you to get an effin dozen" He retorted " How the f do I know what a dozen is"
