Chicken Soup

Postby purplegirl » Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:21 pm

Does anyone know how to make chicken soup as I have heard that is very good for boosting the immune system and my friend is very poorly and pregnant so she is unable to take anything that might not be good for the baby and I was hoping to make her something to pick her up

Many thanks

You can make a good stock by boiling a "gallina" (hen) ..you can buy at any butchers, whole, half or quarter...add any veg you like.
Puchero is well recommended for the very poorly and another dish called enblanco which is made with fish potatoes and onion.

First, catch your chicken ....

Seriously, if your friend really is ill, I'd strongly suggest that she seeks
medical advice, rather than trying to tough it out.

I did a quick google for chicken soup & boosting the immune system as
I had never heard of this before. Most of the entries seem to be "herbal"
remedies and the rest are about coughs and colds.

Hopefully your friend will get better soon (80% of symptoms disappear
in less than 5 days) with or without chicken soup, but I'd still advise
she gets proper medical attention - you never know.

Pete
