Postby sue1107 » Wed Apr 30, 2008 9:33 am

Does anyone know if there is a subsidised scheme for children in Spain- like there used to be in England. I am sure I have heard that under 16´s get some concession

You have to be paying 'into the system' to get this. The treatment only covers the filling, cleaning and removal of adult teeth not milk teeth. If you need any other treatment, eg braces you will have to find a private dentist.

Our nearest free dentist is 50kms away. It is worth our while as we have 4 children, but if I only had one I do not think it would be worth our while bearing in mind all the travel expenses.

It comes from the Consejeria de Salud, Delegacion Provincial, Avda. Luis Montoto, 89. 41700 Sevilla. We live in Sevilla so not sure if this is the address you would need, and I have just noticed that my dentist is not on the list in the booklet, but does provide this service ? Its a dentist from outside the practice who comes in each Tuesday. To date my son has not needed any treatment other than check ups.

Hi Andy do you mean its only free for their adult teeth? We do pay into the system but suppose its like everything you have to ask! and you could be right about not worth it for 1 child

Hi,

Yes it only covers them for their adult teeth. I got the booklet and letter automatically through the post. Where do you live, I may be able to tell you the nearest place? If you haven't received the booklet ask your medical centre for them to send it to you as you cannot attend the dentists without it.
