I cannot give age but it kinda goes...
holy communion the term is " a child is said to have reached the age of reason" and at least 7 years of age (a few of us here may be ruled out on this "reason" one)
confirmation there is a term which I cannot remember but loosely interpreted "puberty" and at least 12 years.
I do not think it is the word they use...

Responsible etc!, and I saw pictures of my neighbours grandson for communion and she said he was 11 .......???

First Communion is around seven or eight in my village but it depends on them attending, completing and passing the Catechism classes run by the nuns who live in the village. Confirmation is after then and usually ties in with leaving Primary school to head off for the Secondary school but is also tied in with when the Bishop visits as he's the one that does the Confirmation ceremony.

I would also say it’s younger than 12. I have had to fit classes around catequesis for the younger pupils. By the time they’ve reached secondary school, they have had their first communion.
My son didn’t do it but my niece was 8 years old

Communion is usually about 7-8 years old, having studied the catechism, but confirmation is a much more personal thing - a friend here was 16 before doing confirmation, but you do have to fit in with when the bishop comes to town also. Some seem to feel confirmed in their faith earlier than others ... probably a lot to do with how the local parish priest view things too. Of course some youngsters never bother ...
