We are moving to Loja in the next few weeks and looking to meet people in a similar position to ourselves. Our son turns 4 in october and is very excited about having a birthday party but he hasn't started nursery so is yet to make any friends his own age. we have invited buzz lightyear, Woody, Thomas the tank engine and co but don't think they will make it so any 4year olds up for a good time please get in touch and bring along any siblings as we have a 10 month as well

Looks to me like this would be a perfect opportunity to get to know some of your (most likely Spanish) neighbours. I have found that having children has opened all kinds of doors for us socially. it gives you a real advantage in terms of integration. Also, you run the risk of alienating the locals if you don't invite their kids (not very good for your son in the long run).
