I agree that if you have those awful symptoms then hrt is an option. I was just pointing out that not everyone has the symptoms.

I think you said you are 53 now and have had the symptpoms for five years? In which case you started the menopause a lot younger than me (I was 54) and it backs up what my DR said about the longer you have your periods, the easier the menopause is.
