I had a MRI scan done at Clinica Rincon. I showed the results to the doctor there on a Thurs evening and he said "can you come in on Monday and I will operate".
Cheers

Saw the local medics today, they had no kit to let them view the disc with the scan, but after reading the report referred us to the orthopod/trauma specialists at Hospital Comarcal...first date available is 21st. January that is. "Keep taking the tablets!"

How rotten - you must both be so down. The only tiny *beep* of light is that the shoulder might well be healing by then.

My daughter has a lot of pain at the moment with a tendon at the elbow which brings pain and tingling to her whole arm and fingers. She is getting ultrasound treatment at a physiotherapists (in England) and it is giving some relief. Maybe worth a try here if you can find someone well qualified and hopefully not too expensive?

Edit: That *beep* has made me laugh. I wrote 'ch1nk'

Aaaaah, so!
All the medics agree that only the lightest of movements should be done with the arm until it is repaired. The physio's strapping helps, so we are getting that renewed before herself goes to the UK next week on a grandchild visit.

All they need is a computer with a CD/ DVD drive. Surely they had one on their desk?
More likely a case of if they looked at the sans they wouldn't understand them.
Pop the disc in your CD/DVD drive. There is a viewer programme on the disk but you can probably view it with
viewer program you have on your PC.
I would suggest you visit Clinica Rincon in Rincon de la Victoria, with the disc and ask for an appointment with Dr Doncell. He is one of the trauma doctors there and speaks excellent English and will fully explain the problem and any recommended treatments.
I think a consultation is 80 Euro.
If you decide to have your wife treated there then you can get a quotation for the cost of the treatment.
I would expect that you should be able to get an appointment with him within a week and treatment there soon after. An ideal early Xmas present for your wife. Defiantly far quicker than in the public health service.

My Initial MRI was done at Clinica Rincon at La Rosaleda. It was on. Dvd which worked on my DVDs player and PC. However, when we went to Xanit Hospital, Benalmadena, they couldn't view it so did another one. I think it is because they like to view on their own specialised viewing equipment. MRI's done at Xanit are given to me on a CD which also works on the PC but not the dvd player. The Cd has its own viewing software on it. Fortunately it is compatible with the equipment at Carlos Haya so they are happy with that. Saves them doing their own. I give them the cd from Xanit, having taken a copy of course.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

I cannot get the disc to open on my PC at all. It keeps asking for Java which is already installed, and I even did an update on it from the website. There is a programme called Local Eye Viewer on the disc, but I cannot open this, and it does not offer the usual list of optional programmes as to what I want to use with the disc, so have given up!
Benamargosa Health Centre does not have any computers with DVD/CD player.
I will certainly think about the doctor recommended, but OH is determined to make the UK trip next week, so by the time she comes back will be deep in sorting out Christmas if I know her, and will put it off, making it closer and closer to the appointment we have...being deeply Yorkshire, she was difficult to persuade to let me pay for the scan, or the physio, so any more outlay is unlikely lol. Generous with others but mean with herself!

Thanks for that mowser, but we have bitten the bullet and got an appointment with Dr (Mr?) Doncell on Monday, so I am going to not risk damaging the disc (me and anything computerry!), leaving it to the experts. I have been told 72€ for the consultation, then we take it from there.

I couldn't play my MRI DVDs either on my home PC. My (private) Doctor's computer played it OK so my physio who worked from her clinic was able to look at it. One of the MRI results also showed photo stills from the DVD so I was able to see that (for what it's worth .... me being no expert!).
