Legionairres disease
We had our central heating system serviced yesterday. The engineer remarked that the thermo on the hw tank was set low at 45. I said I couldn't see the point of having it too hot and then adding cold water when you run a bath. He said that if it's set too low, the bacteria that cause Legionairres disease can develop. Apparently it should be set at about 60. Just thought I's pass that on.
Re: Legionairres disease
Ive heard this before. Also another cause is water tanks on roofs that get hot and cold repeatedly or if there not covered vermin getting into the tanks. Mainly hotels in poor countries suffer this problem.

And not just in poor countries. Poor hotels in UK have managed fatalities this way too.
