On G&T: like all alcohol, it makes ladies more beautiful - at least, the more I drink the more beautiful they look!
On prices: the Scirocco bar in the Chiringuito Antonio complex in Venta Baja does a very large Jamesons (or any other non-malt whisky) with ginger ale for 2€ a shot - no extra for the ice or the excellent service from Didier or his wife! Quite enough, too!

Picking this thread up after a couple of months, there is another Indian restaurant very close which offers even better value.

It's on the north side on the N340 just west of Supersol. It's called the Taj Mahal (unique name ).

They have a confusing number of set menus but they also do a special €9.95 menu (all day) where you can eat as much as you like off the main menu.

Big portions and very nice food. House wine at €7.

Probably, but I would never buy a G&T in any restaurant!

We had the pops and pickles, 4 starters, 4 mains, 4 rice, 4 nans, 3 bottles of water and a bottle of red for €52.

Having tried this menu last night I have to second Sid's recommendations. We had a very tasty meal with generous portions and no hassle about what we ordered (which friends had also experienced when they previously tried the Light of India, plus they also said the food wasn't as good as it used to be when they were in the Avenida del Faro). It was very quiet in the Taj Mahal - only one other couple in there, which is a shame as we feel we had a well priced meal with friendly service. I'm hoping they survive until we next have the craving for an Indian!
