Restaurant/Venta between Murcia & Antequera ?

We will be in Spain at the same time as our friends who have a house in Murcia, and we'd like to meet up for a meal somewhere between us (nr Antequera) and them (near Mazarron).

Last time we met at a lovely restaurant on the outskirts of Granada (can't remember the name but can look it up if anyone's interested), but we'd like to try a new place - maybe one a bit nearer them.

Edit: looking at google maps, Baza seems to be more or less central.......

So, any suggestions / recommendations ?

Ok folks, we will be meeting our friends shortly, and I'm still no nearer a solution as to where to eat - I can't believe that none of you have never stopped off somewhere around Baza.....

Really need some suggestions

On the motorway about 5 mins from Baza there are 2 ventas one on either side of the road, both very good, had menu del dia and would rate both as above average for quality and price, both are behind petrol station, both are modern and clean.

Thanks Julie - when you say 5 mins from Baza, is that going towards Murcia or towards Granada ?

Hubby says they are 10 mins away not 5 lol and towards Granada as you have to go under the motorway but theres one on either side of the road very close together, so if you don't see the first you would see the second ha ha !

Thanks Julie - I will try & identify them via google streetview/satellite, as I will need to tell my friends (who are coming from Murcia) the exact location or we will be cruising up & down the A 92 forever....

I don't suppose you can remember which fuel supplier it was (Repsol etc), or if it was near an exit....? And which motorway do you have to go under ? Sorry to keep mithering, but I'm not having much luck on google

They're between Herman Valle & the Gor exit (if you're coming from Granada)
There's a Shell (?) garage on one side and a Repsol on the other, both with 'hotels' nearby. One of them seems to be called Hotel Restaurante Venta Nueva and the other possibly Venta del Alamillo

Checkout the following..............

Two service stations at km322 and km323...ish Shell Baza and Mirasierra respectively.

more info:: the Mirasierra has an ITV station, petrol station (one of those never heard of brands) and the Hotel/restaurant is 24hr

The Shell station is just down the road (opposite side of road) and has restaurant as well.

If so, I think there might be a problem - there doesn't appear to be a cambio de sentido, and we are coming from opposite directions

The one coming up from Granada will need to over shoot and can turn at next junction (salida 28) and come back to Mirasierra.
