New Indian Torrox Costa

Postby Wicksey » Tue Mar 20, 2018 5:47 pm

Just tried out a new Indian on Torrox Costa called Madras Curry House. It is next door to the Santander Bank (near to the Repsol petrol stations).

We tried their menu del dia which is available only at lunchtime. There are 2 options at 9.50 and 11.50€, with a choice of starter, main course, rices / naans, with tea, coffee. kulfi or ice cream after. We tried one of each menu and the onion bhajis I had were delicious, and all the food was freshly made and tasty. Most delicious were the naans, as they have a tandoor oven the the naans were particularly light and fluffy

Just got back from the Madras Curry House.
A nice tasty and enjoyable meal.
Pity the restaurant is on the main road, very noisy when a bus or lorry goes past.
However will probably go there again.
Cheers

We ate there recently, largely on the basis if these and other good reports.
We were both extremely disappointed and will never return.
Good Job it was only 37€.
I have had worse, but not often.

Oh dear that's a shame. We've only ever eaten their lunchtime menu for around 10€ which we always found tasty and well made.

IOHO, some of the very best Indian is to be had at the Taj Mahal in Venta Baja (Puenta Don Manuel), with the Taj Mahal in TdM running a close second. The drive up to Venta Baja/Vinuela is also a thing to enjoy.

MUM in Nerja is amazing, we went twice in two weeks and could have gone more often. Old 'Little Italy' location.

Being pedantic it is where the second "Little Italy"was. The first "Little Italy" is still in it's original location. The second "Little Italy" didn't last long.
Agree with you about MUM as I have posted in another thread.

I thought the one under SuperSol at the puente was the second one, so was the one where MUM now is their 3rd? 3 does seem a bit too many in one town.

Back on topic though, we did visit the Madras place on the way to El Morche this summer and sadly they messed up our takeaway order a bit so we got a random box of sauce instead of our starter. The rest was nice enough though, just not on the same level as MUM (which is also better than Buddha House IMHO). Shame it's a bit of a distance for takeaway.

We live in the NW for most of the year and curry isn't really a thing up here, so we tend to get as much as possible when in the south!

Correct, I forgot about the one under Supersol which is there 2nd one.
Yes 3 in one town, with 1 and 3 very close together were probably a bit much.

I think the Little Italy in Supersol has also closed.
