Xmas Restaurants in Albaicin Granada
Does anyone know of nay restaurants that will be open for Xmas lunch/dinner on the 25th in central Granada. There are 6 of us travelling down and we are not sure whether we will need to celebrate in our apartment or will be able to find a restaurant and bar for food and drinks.
Any assistance woudl be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

most of the big hotels and larger restaurants are open for lunch , HOWEVER it would be advisable to book as they are full of large families having lunch. I'm not sure how many would be open for dinner - except the hotels. Last few years the place just closes down from Xmas eve to 3 kings night. However with the advent of Monarch and easyjet flights things are raplidly changing.

Pretty happy to go with anything - could be something traditional Spanish style or something a little more english style - not too fussed to be honest. Somewhere with a good atmosphere, lots of food and drink. Not that phased about the cost but wouldn't want to spend much more than 70euro pp.
Are there any decent bars likely to be open around that time as well, or should we stock up on some wine for at home?

70E p.p. you would have the entire restaurant! Granada has been cheap and a New Year Party cost would be about 75Epp at one of the better hotels.
If you want Spanish I would suggest tapas/drinks at Plaza Nueva at Gran Taverna, then maybe a walk to the Cathedral - there may be a mass on - then eat at "Sevilla" or maybe walk down to near El Corte Inglis and go to "Chikito" - both of these are on Granadainfo website and I think they both will speak English.
If you are feeling brave - try the Gypsy restaurant at top of Sacremonte - the views direct to the Alhambra are amazing "casa Juanillo" don't know if they can speak English. Its a bit to a walk or you can catch the little bus.
There is an amazing restaurant called (I think) Mirador de Myamar - I'll see if I have details - downside is its outside in a fantastic garden looking onto the Alhambra - so might be too cold for dinner. It snowed on Xmas night last year by the way
Dont know where you are staying but the bars near us in Albacyin alto where open until about 10.00p.m. - when they closed to go to mass. I always recommend a house full of booze

OUt of INterest - we are all in our late 20's and don't mind a drink etc> IS there any late licence bars or clubs in that vicinity that might have somerthing on over that period. Am guessing that it is a longshot but may as well ask. Is there a particularly trendy area of town to hang out and soak up the atmosphere?

theres a quite social scene along the side of the Darro river, its predominately Gay but very friendly. I'm afraid to say Xmas is a bit of a dead loss in Granada its a family occasion so people go home to the countryside and the students all go home as well.
Granada isnt Marbella (unfortunately as I like to party as well) so its not "trendy" send me a PM with your email and I'll look out some clubs for you.
How long are you staying -= New Year is one big party - might be better for you.
