Indian Restaurant. - Torrox and Torre del Mar

Postby Marina » Sat Jul 15, 2006 6:56 pm

Can anyone recommend a good Indian Restaurant somewhere between Torrox and Torre del Mar please?

Any recommendations on what to order for two people who have never eated Indian food and don't like anything too spicy?

Thanks.

There is a good indian in torre del mar. From torrox it is on the left hand side down one of the side streets towards the far end (malaga end).
Try a Korma with pilau rice and a peshwari nan and you will be ok.

My parter and I ate (once) in the restaurant Costakid mentions (I think it might be called the Taj Mahal)- never again. He is vegetarian and ordered a vegetable curry - it was made with frozen diced vegetables, and when challenged the waiter admitted as much.

We find the Natraj on the Paseo Maritimo in Torre del Mar (turn down the side street next to the Commissiaria de Policia from the Ave de Andalucia, then left for a short way along the Paseo, in the direction of Caleta) much better.

We both like spicy food so could not make any personal recommendations as to what someone who hasn't eaten Indian food before might like, but Kormas are usually the mildest option.

Natraj is our coastal recommendation - now do a good lunchtime Menu del Dia too.

By the lake here we habe Chez Spice - very popular with most Brits but in our opinion over priced + under spiced. Great views from the terrace though.

Taj Mahal - previously mentioned - have just opened a second branch in Puente Don Manuel. Service atrocious but food actually very good and quite well priced.
