flaminco

Postby carrowcrin » Thu Sep 02, 2010 9:44 am

I will be coming to Olvera Cadiz in a few weeks and would like to take my amiga to a flaminco show. Can anyone help with this, i will do an overnight if necessary and if there was a combined overnight package that might suit my needs.

Many thanks.

Yes it is Flamenco. What are the exact days you are here.

For example on 5th and 6th of October there is very good show in Sevilla: Eva Yerbabuena, ballet flamenco (Teatro de la Maestranza).

You can see authentic Flamenco in Olvera. Go and see Fiona at AlfiCasa on the roundabout with the fountain, and she'll tell you all about it. Or if you want a professional show for tourists it would have to be Sevilla. Los Gallos at Plaza de Santa Cruz 11 is pretty good. Costs about 21 euros for a show including a drink.

I wasn't trying to be smart asking if you meant Flamingo or flamenco! This from A.com ...

"In the north of Malaga province 19km from Antequera is the Laguna de Fuente de Piedra, a famous beautiful lagoon. The largest natural lake in the Iberian Peninsula at 2.5km wide and 6.5km long, it is a haven for birds with over 170 different species recorded here. Apart from its abundant aquatic birds, it is well known for its flamingo population."

Once you've seen the Flamenco, this is well worth a visit.

We went to see the flamingos last year, but they had all unfortunately disappeared. Maybe the wrong time of the year?

If you do go then the donkey sanctuary nearby is worth a visit as well.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

We went there a couple of years ago as well but they were so far away and it was too hot to walk miles so we too ended up in the donkey sanctuary. What a lovely place and I adored the donkeys.
