Vinuela sew and sews is a group of ladies (although men aren't banned) who meet weekly for patchwork and a variety of other crafts. There is an exhibition on Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd of October (Fri/Sat 9.30 to 8pm, Sun 9.30 to 1.30). The exhibition is at Garden La Palma garden centre in Velez Malaga (on the A356). Lots of parking right outside, and for the men, the garden centre will be open all during the exhibition. You can see some of the work at http://www.vinuelasewandsews.eu. Some of the members have won prizes at national exhibitions, so the standard of work is high.
There is a prize draw on Sunday, with two large bed quilts and a variety of other prizes. There will be coffee and cakes and on Friday and Saturday 1.30 - 3.30 there will be paella. Hope some of you can make it.
Patchwork exhibition (and gardening for the men)
Re: Patchwork exhibition (and gardening for the men)
The quilting looks very good. I was dragged off to an exhibition at the V&A by a friend who does it. I really enjoyed it. Amazed at it's popularity, queues round the building. My friend did one for our 25th with all different scenes from our life. I am so envious as to their skill at introducing all the colours/prints that harmonize. Put some pics on if you have some.
Re: Patchwork exhibition (and gardening for the men)
I just wish I was as good. In a picture mine looks fine, but close up you can see the mistakes. Some of the ladies keep going until it's absolutely perfect. We'll have some pictures afterwards, so will post them then.
For something other than patchwork take a look at these:
http://www.vinuelasewandsews.eu/group_m ... dery_1.htm. Not only beautifully embroidered, but Helen makes the design up in her head as she goes along.

Kath hadn't done any craftwork until she joined the group

If you take a look around the site you will find a huge range of work, everything from clothing to curtains.
