What radio station do you listen to ?

Postby scotty » Sat Sep 01, 2012 7:55 pm

What radio stations do you listen regularly to and why ? I find all the ex pat stations "patchy" when driving the A7 / AP7. And the band allocation seems to allow cross interference between stations .
So talk radio europe ? Italk (Maurice Boland) ? Phantom ?

We listen to M80 when out driving - good reception between Velez and Nerja. It's a Spanish station but they play nearly all English music, a good mix of all sorts old and new - it's a good station!

Maxima FM. Normally a decent selection of music.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

Radio Oro or RAI if I am in the mood for machine gun delivery of the news. I never listen to English language Spanish stations which are just about as dire as the English language newspapers with probably the same proportion of adverts.

My favourite listening in the car is to programmes recorded from BBC Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra that I didn't have time to listen to at home.
Let's go Brandon!

Although we do listen to Maxima FM our oreference is to stick some music on a memory stick and listen to that. Can get a bit repetitive if the grandchildren pick the music and are in the car. They have their favourite tracks and want them on all the time.

If you have a smart phone with internet and either bluetooth or an input jack on your car system, you can listen to most radio stations from anywhere in the world live in your car with the Tunein radio app.

I'm not a great fan of Spanish radio. There's Kiss fm which plays nice music and doesn't have too much talking but seems to have the same playlist for weeks so gets a bit boring after a while.

Then there's others that like to give inane trivia about the song or musician, which sort of reminds me of the Tony Blackburn style of the seventies, which sounds so dated now

Finally the debates on politics sound patronising and sometimes when everybody talking at the same time, which is is the Spanish way,It is really difficult to understand what is being said.

I listen to BBC radio 2,3,4, 5 live and Smooth radio depending on my mood.
