What a disappointment this year. It seems to me that each year it gets worse. When we first came here the streets were crammed with Casetas. Calle Reinedero was heaving with bars and young people enjoying themselves. That street was completely devoid of bars this year, not even decorations. Even the Main Street was down by half. Is it the Town Hall making it too expensive for the various organisations who run the bars or maybe just disinterest I don't know but a few more years and there will be nothing left.

I've just read of this terrible accident which happened this afternoon in La Bohemia, in the centre of town which would have been packed for the féria. 50 people are reported to have been injured, 4 of them seriously. This is probably a good reason for keeping Calle Reñidero clear and open to traffic, to provide access and egress for the emergency services. ... 92505.html

Sounds like it could have been much worse.
