Is there any way we can know which weekend the people in Spain decide when there be weekend fiesta
Semana Santa and Corpus Ghriste are when they are.
I am thinking more of say Andalucia day or May 1st.
I assume if they fall on Mon/Tue or Fri/Sat the event be on the weekend closest.
How is it decided if they fall on Tue/Wed?
Because i book flights well in advance i have missed a few things over the years, i have also being unfortunate to have got to things it be better
missed. Just be nice to know if possible.

Many thanks...

I knew all of that without asking google, that was not my question.
I think you not understand what i ask.
Say for example next year May 1st on Wed and Feb 28th on Thur.
Do you know the Holiday Monday that will tie-in with these days?

Hi,
In Spain they keep to the Dates, unlike the UK that move them to the nearest Monday or Friday.

But if the holiday falls on say, a Thursday, a lot of people will take the 'puente' (bridge) ie they will take Friday off/pull a sickie & have a long weekend ;-)

As to a weekend fiesta, timed to co-incide, or nearly, with an official holiday, say mid-week - it is very much up to local town hall and fiesta committees as to how they plan their time. Often there is nothing special - eg May 1st is a good example, round here at least. Those who can take a few days off work and make a long weekend or even a week to link with other hols around beginning of May, and either take themselves and extended family off to their house in the campo, or go off for a spring-break type holiday. Having said all that, May is the time for all the various Romarias and Holy Sancturary fiestas relating to the Virgin Mary, and then for the Cruzes - Crosses parading round with big processions in each Barrio of the town.

Having checked the dates of the various national, regional, town, village festivals, then decide on where you will be, when, and check the local towns website for info on what they will be doing ... or have a chat in the nearest bar !
