Hello Kris, welcome.
I would be inclined to stick to one of the well-known international removal companies like Robert Darvall, tel 01189798111.

A friend recently used a certain local (Málaga) company for shipment of a part load which ended up being impounded in France because the vehicle was stopped and checked by French police and found to also contain a consignment of drugs.
They are now involved in paperwork and expense in an effort to get their belongings released.
I appreciate this may be a one-off incident but one which is less likely to happen with a well-known remover.

Happened to a relative and it took at least 6 weeks and a lot of hassle to release his goods. Suppose it could work the other way and the driver could be duped into taking stuff for the customers. My daughter used the spanish co. Tucan (málaga) and they insisted that they repack most of the boxes and did a full inventory.

Re: moving
We used Warm Horizons based in AEG and they charged approx 80-90 euros per cubic metre from UK to Coin, door to door. They were fine with our stuff but I don't do recommendations as it usually goes wrong for someone else !!!Julie wrote:can anyone put a price on their removals, per square metre or journey, pm if you prefer to keep it quiet Thanks

We have just arrived back in the UK and used Matthew James Removals. They were A1, couldn't fault them from start to finish. They are based in Kent and on the Costa del Sol-I would personally thoroughly reccomend them and told them so on completion of our move!
We drove our things over ourselves when we moved out three years ago-sooooo much nicer to have it all done for you!

The one I would not suggest you use is Bishop´s Move.
Essentially they are a franchise operation with, in our case, a very good local agent. But it all went wrong when they put our load on a 40ft articulated truck with umpteen others and found out, when they got here, that 40ft articulated trucks cannot "do" mountain roads!
So they dumped our possesions at a depot in Malaga and claimed they had discharged their duty (look closely at the small print), leaving us to pay another €300 to get it to Cortes.
I´ve been waiting 5 years for someone to ask this question!

Just used Big Col for the second time.
Fantastic job. even in 34 C degree heat they unloaded all the load into the rooms required.
Arrived both destinations on time and kept us informed of ETA, so we didn't have to sit around wondering when they would arrive.
