Exhibitions

As anyone been to one of these property exhibitions in the UK selling properties in Spain.

If so did you buy from them, or were they informative about Spain, or are they a load of cobblers.

I personally have never been to one, I just think that all they will do is put on their commission for the privilege of putting you in touch with some agent in Spain.

Yes I went to a couple in London a few years ago. Most of the exhibitors there are developers or Estate Agents who come over from Spain. They can be a convenient place to get a feel of what´s available before coming over to Spain to see for yourself. An alternative to spending hours searching on the Internet! No harm in going to one provided you are strong willed enough not to give them your details, unless, of course, you find something that really interests you.
The best one was Simply Spain held in Olympia. It was not just a venue to sell houses but more of a "selling Spain" event with demonstrations such as fashion shows, flamenco dancing etc.

No, they are primarily organised for property sales agencies, but are worth going to just to get information on areas you may be interested in. Should you show interest, you will most likely be offered a few days free stay in an apartment, subject to a cheap flight fee and promise of attendance at a promotion meeting in Spain. Provided you have a strong will to resist a hard sell for one morning, enjoy the break ( and the weather ). You may be asked to pay a refundable deposit to secure flight tickets etc. but reputable companies will make the refund. While in Spain you can pick up information regarding the area from the local tourist offices.

You may even have the opportunity to meet Jennie Bond and pretend that you have royal connections. Over 25,000 people have enjoyed the
'SunBreaks' holiday experience!
