Hey I'm really glad I fell upon this post I was begining to think that people were happy to see people go back with the gloating words "told you so". There's a lot of sniping in this forum which does'nt encourage people to contribute As you say If you've come, lived here, and then decided to go back for whatever reason, At least you've tried. I'm sure people don't make these decisions lightly

"At least you've tried"
very true Mark....... as your namesake once said...."20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn´t do than by the ones you did you"
even if it didn´t work out it´s another experience to learn from.

Thank you Gordon...............I really needed to read this. Right now, we are packing up to go back to the UK and I can barely see the keyboard for tears. This is our home and we have more friends here (mostly Spanish) than we ever had over there. We lost our internet jobs last year and the live music scene is dying on its feet so now, we simply can't get any work.....sin trabajo - no hay dinero; sin dinero no hay una vida. We don't have a house to sell..we rented in UK and have rented here for 6 years and will have to rent in UK too. The only thing that keeps us going is the the insistence of so many friends in the village, that we come home again one day. We need to hang on to that thought although it is an unlikely prosect as we are now both in our 60's.
It is hard to stay positive, but reading your post has given us both something to hold onto during these dark days................thank you again and Bless you for your kindness.

Hello Maz,
So sorry to hear that you are having to leave Spain..

Life is a series of Episodes, as I'm sure you all ready know.
You are about to start another episode, and I'm sure that everything will turn out fine for you.

Good Luck and I think that you will return to Spain in the not too distant future...

Best Wishes,
Gordon....
