Andalusian Artists Three Day Show

The Andalusian International Artists Group celebrates the arrival of Summer with a three day exhibition of members work at the studio of the artist Richard Wood in Valtocado, Mijas.

The exhibition opens on Friday the 6th June between 7-9 pm and continues on Saturday and Sunday between 2-4 pm.

The AIA-Group was formed five years ago by professional and dedicated visual artists from around Europe and the USA, who are all living and working in the Province of Andalucia. The group consists of twelve members from seven different countries.

The Group's objectives are to encourage members to promote their work, enhance their knowledge, and assist them in their careers and to promote the best standards as artists between people form diverse backgrounds.

Further information is available from the Chairman, Roger Cummiskey on 952 592 652 or their web site on www.aia-group.net.

Sounds good. Will get down to see it. If there are any artists interested in exhibiting elsewhere in Andalucia, there is an event being organised in Granada - details follows as they are asking for contributors at the moment. -

Invitation to Participate in an Art Exhibition: An Outsiders View of Spain

An alternative art exhibition is being organised in Loja for the summer of 2009 and artists interested in participating are invited to submit samples of their work now

The exhibition will run from 29th July to 14th August 2009 in El Pósito, Loja - the newly created cultural centre and exhibition space in a refurbished grain store in the centre of Loja's old quarter.

The theme of the exhibition is 'An outsider's view of Spain'.
As there is only limited space, priority will be given first to artists living in the municipal area of Loja followed by Poniente of Granada but it is open to any foreign artist who spends all or part of each year living or working in Andalucía.

The exhibition is attracting lots of interest and it is hoped to evolve it into a yearly event which could travel to different venues in Granada/Andalucia.

If you are interested in participating please submit, by email, three to five photographs of the kind of work you do in the form of .jpg approx 640 x 480. Please also include details of the size of the work and the media employed. The photographs needn't be of the work you intend to exhibit but should be representative of the style, media and quality of the work you are likely to show.

If selected to participate, you will be notified by the end of March at the latest and will need to have at least two pieces of work completed by the end of May in order that they can be professionally photographed for catalogs and publicity purposes.

Email address for submissions: [email protected]
