you only have to go back to bare metal where there is rust, the parts that are not rusty can be painted over directly. the gel to get rid of the rust really is worth using, forget the wire-brush !!

if you want to get rid of the RUST , not the old paint, you need a transformador de oxido, CONSOLAN is one of the brands, try to get the gel, it´s better than the liquid
