What glue to get?
I need to glue plastic to my UPVC windows.I want to put up blinds(not very heavy) and glue the little sticky hooks to the plastic so i need a strong glue.Ive tried Hard as nails and that was like using toothpaste
What else is there out there thats good

Re: What glue to get?
maybe araldite?
there is also a superglue available in "gel", I managed to stick the car mirror to the windscreen with it, it´s good !!
won´t the "sticky" hooks "stick" without glue?
(you could use contact adhesive, it won´t work but at least you´ll enjoy the job!!)

Use clear silicone. Its reasonably stong; currently holding my Land Rover bumper together, and it can be taken off. It sticks well to glass and is cheap and easy to use.

Re: What glue to get?
Julian,Ive tried sticky hooks without glue and they are not strong enough.O.K at first but then you come down one morning and the blinds are on the floor or just hanging by one hook
ajtg,i will try the silicone as i already have some in my tool box, only it isnt to stick to glass, its to plastic.
If that fails i will try araldite(can you get that here?) or tangit as country boy says

Re: What glue to get?
Peachy, go for Tangit, it is a solvent glue, specially for PVC, you can buy it in small tubes from builders merchants or good ferreterias. Just try it on one hook first, it will never come off and will "melt your windows so make sure you hold each hook in place for 30 seconds so you don't get skid marks if they slide. Oh, the vapours will give you a great high if you put some in a paper bag and inhale it!! (Also a cracking headache afterwards), it is a notifiable substance in UK, not to be sold to doubtful persons, Spain doesn't seem to have a sniffing problem so it easily obtainable here. (I had Hardware shops in UK).

Re: What glue to get?
One small blob on the hook, one small blob on the marked place on the window where it has to go, bring together, twist back and forth once, wait , let go. Simples!

Re: What glue to get?
The easiest and least complicated way to do this is with the double sided sticky pads available from car accessory shops. These are used to keep your cars interior mirror in place for the cars life and years of tugging at it.......they do stick like stuff to a blanket .......and coppers to buy.

Doctors or hospitals Julian yes!
DA~will these pads be sticky enough to hold blinds up??
A small side mirror for a car doesnt weigh much compared to a blind with fabric on..
Oh now im all in a pickle..

Re: What glue to get?
Come on Peachie girl you said they were not that heavy Put it this way I've got front number plates held on with the stuff, your wheel weights on your car use it and, theres a fair bit of the old centrifugals trying to ditch them ................and I stuck our front door bell on with the stuff rather than drilling it. The bell broke a month or two back and I smashed it whilst having to chissel it off....the tape was still there like a goodun.
I buy mine in a roll but the Mirror pads are just a few pence each.
Having said that, I'd prefer you use glue because if it falls off with my idea my name will be mud
