Hola!
My husband and I are in the process of moving to Andalucia and have a question. He works as a carpenter and in our current house he has a workshop in a modular extension - it is one of these that can be disassembled, moved and put up again - and we were hoping that we'd be able to take it to Andalucia and just erect it at our new home there. However, he just thought of a very good point about planning permission! Does anyone know what the legal rules are over there about house expansion? Will we need to apply for planning permission before erecting the building?
Gracias!
M.

You would definitely be advised to talk to the planning department about it.
They might give permission if you say it is only a temporary structure.

In Spain - It is simpler to beg forgiveness than it is to obtain permission

I think "forgiveness" is not in the vocabulary of the Junta and the courts!

Nobody bothers taking the official route. Apart from expats. If its inside the house don't bother, therefore, but outside? You have to hope the neighbours don't mind as you will be unlikely to get permission from the town hall.
