Building Permission Mijas

Postby jimmy7 » Fri Jun 02, 2017 9:42 pm

I want to build a wall approx 2 metres high to enclose my rear garden. Before I go to the Mijas town hall to inquire, how easy is it to apply for permission. Do I need professional help to apply. I understand that the fee for the building licence is based on the cost of the whole job. Therefore do I need a quote from a builder before I apply.

If the good folk in the Mijas Ayuntamiento are like the ones in Comares, they should be able to steer you in what is easily acceptable. A reasonably honest estimate based upon cost of materials plus your labour (if you doing it yourself) should be ok, with a good sketch of the work proposed along with a couple of photos showing the situation. We found that a wall of 1.8 metres high was fine, anything over that gave them the heebie-jeebies as a wall higher than that in Velez-Málaga had fallen over a few weeks before!
Try talking to them before applying.
