Granite worktop filler

Postby Parilla » Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:44 pm

Does anyone know if what I am looking for exists, and if so what it is called.

I am butting together at right angles, pieces of granite kitchen worktop, and would like to put some sort of filler/mastic in the joint which would set to ensure a perfect seal.

Any ideas welcome.

The granite boys I used to know over there used a coloured 2 pack epoxy resin filler to match the granite base colour something like Mapei Kerapoxy or "Roberlo" marsilla para Marmol y Granito. They ground, buffed and polished it in after drying.

Sometimes a polyurethane adhesive such as a high modulus Sikaflex is used to glue the support braces under the main work top sections where they join.
