I have a remote sink and would like hot water to accompany the existing cold supply.
The traditional solutions are butane instant water heater or a small water cylinder. The former is a lot of hassle and expense for occasional use. The latter is neater but I guess not very economical unless on a timer.
Now the question. Are instantaneous electric water heaters legal and available here? If so, presumably they are wired on spur on own fuse with appropriate cable size to wattage. I have found a 2.8 kw model which in the uk would be wired to a fused spur off a ring circuit. Could it be used here just plugged into a radial circuit? The hot water flow wouldn’t be spectacular but adequate and the instal is in the cabinet under the sink.

Re: Instant electric water heaters
I have an instantaneous electric water heater under the kitchen sink, another under the bathroom sink and another for the shower.
The kitchen and the bathroom sink ones are on the kitchen and bathroom radial circuits respectively.
The shower one, which is 8.5 KW has it's own radial circuit and MCB.
Previously had an instantaneous gas water heater supplying all of them. Got fed up with the fluctuation in temperature.
Cheers

That is encouraging. Sourced here in Spain? have you got a name or model number please for your sink ones please?
Does the sink get earthed at all or not necessary as the device is earthed via the circuit?

Re: Instant electric water heaters
Bought the sink ones from Ebay.
They are all made by DAFI.
Plenty to choose from, for example, https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Pr ... r&_sacat=0
I got mine from a Polish seller, I believe they are made in Poland.

The bathroom sink is porcelain and the kitchen sink is plastic so not earthed but the connecting copper water pipes and the heaters are earthed.
Cheers

Presumably you need a potencia of over 8.5 to cope with that. Could be a problem for some potential users.

Re: Instant electric water heaters
Correct, that is why I am on a 8.8 KW potencia.
I wasn't suggesting that anybody and everybody can have one, it is just what I have got.
The sink ones are 4.5 KW
Cheers

Re: Instant electric water heaters
3.7 kw? Min on a radial circuit ?
The one I was looking at was a measly 2.8 kw zip es £211 from aquahot in uk. Adequate for hand washing or getting some water for mopping. I didn't want a dedicated cct.
