Lemon Grass
Lemon Grass
Has anyone grown this from scratch? How easy is it? Where can I get seeds/plant from, I live in the Torre del Mar area. Any tips would be appreciated.
Re: Lemon Grass
Suttons seeds have seeds and plants. There's not a problem having seeds sent here, but I suspect they won't send plants. No idea how easy it is to grow, but it says it likes sun

Grow Lemon Grass ???? .... its bloody invasive if you have a damp Spot.
Don't bother with seeds. Just push a few sticks of fresh lemongrass from the supermarket into a wet area and you'll be hacking it out in a couple of years time
Like most things the things you want to grow don't and the things you do - don't

Re: Lemon Grass
I have two huge clumps of it. They each are about a metre square.
Mine started originally from a plant I bought, but I have also grown new ones by picking a stick and cutting the bottom 5cm off, usually with a few roots, and putting it in a glass of water until it grows a bundle of root. Then I plant it.
It takes about a year before it is big enough to use it.
The other "Asian" plant I have is a Curry Leaf plant - they grow easily here.

We were given 2 bulbs a couple of years ago and we now have an abundance of the stuff. We originally tried with seeds bought from the UK, but no success.
